Want to be a Guest on My Show?

If you think you’ve got inspiring stories to share with the world and a commitment and value to helping people suffering from addiction, depression, anxiety, and other forms of mental health issues, then I would love to have a meaningful discussion with you!

Benefits of Being a Show Guest

Highlight your expertise and show leadership in your field

  1. Broaden your exposure to an engaged audience
  2. Build relationships and respect within the industry
  3. Create more content after the interview
  4. Share the interview across multiple platforms

To help with these goals, you will automatically receive the following list of materials:

  • 2 static images for the new episode announcement social card (2 designs)
  • 1 snippet video of the interview
  • 1 highlights video showing the best moments of the interview
  • 1 static image showing a remarkable quote from the interview check out these examples!

Furthermore, each guest is invited to come back for a 10-points-in-10-minutes interview. Whilst this form of interview is a great value for my audience, it is also of great value to you as a guest. It can become a professionally crafted video business card which you can embed into your web site or pin to your social media channels.

Help me make an impact!

My Steps to Sobriety is more than just a platform of in-depth interviews and curiosity-fueled excursions. It is a podcast that goes beyond its limit by supporting charitable causes.

For each full interview, I donate money to B1G1. It’s a pay-it-forward concept, and it only goes to show you how your contributions can significantly help improve the lives of many individuals and communities.

Please support my show!

I encourage all my guests to pay US$30 for their appearances on my show. This is a VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION to support the hours of work that go into each show episode. However, if you are in financial trouble, I am happy for you to scale back the amount. This is your choice! Please help me to finance this show – every cent counts!

After we have completed our interview you will receive an email with more details. You can then decide if you financially want to support my show 🙂

My Workflow: Applying is straight-forward!

1. Find your media One Sheet or other sources with your bio, social media links and think of a catchy title for your interview.

2. Get one or two high-resolution head-and-shoulder pics which I can use for the art work (look at the templates above).

3. Click on the button below (Start Your Application) which will open a Questionnaire to be filled out. Feel free to copy and paste from your Media One Sheet. The information you provide to me is used directly for the show notes.

4. At the end of the form you are asked to upload your pictures in jpg or png format. If you know nothing about photography – simply look at the file size of your picture. Anything less that 250 KB is probably too small and makes you look bad.

5. After you submit your form you will automatically be beamed across to my Calendly booking page. Choose a date and time of your liking.

6. Once you have committed to a date and time, Calendly will ask you how much you will contribute to my show. Give what you can, and we take it from there.

7. Lastly, Calendly will send us both a confirmation email, and you will get a calendar request to assure that our date is logged properly in your system.

Cancellation Policy

Sometimes things come up that mean we have to change our plans. Fair enough, shit happens. But a few facts to ponder for you:
1. Most of my recordings are in the early morning hours, before I go to work as an anaesthetist. I will do my best to be there for you, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! This means I get up at 6 am to be ready for you, whilst otherwise I could get another hour of sleep. If you don’t turn up, I get cranky!

2. Many of my guests come from the US or other areas outside of the New Zealand time zone. Please be aware of the time difference. Read the Calendly notification carefully and pay attention. Calendly should automatically tell you our appointment in your own time zone, but it always amazes me how many guests somehow get confused.  FYI – New Zealand is the first country to see the new date. Therefore I am technically living in your future! 😉

3. It is of no use for me when you try to message me at 3 am my time to tell me that you are sick. In reality, you probably knew quite a few hours earlier that you are not well. So, I rather prefer a postponement at an earlier stage (my evening hours in New Zealand), so that I can alter my plans accordingly.

4. Compared with other shows, I have chosen not to charge a cancellation fee. I will treat you and your time with respect, and all I ask is that you do the same for me!
